What this expansion is
The Gateway to The Void opened and the corrupting power it contained engulfed Petrichor V, plunging the planet into darkness. The developer's framing is that Void Creatures had spent millennia growing dominant by taking artifacts out of our realm and into theirs, and that they now look to add the player to the same collection.

Built around a first-person scope: you time reloads, aim at weak spots, and delete a single target rather than clearing a crowd. The developer describes her as the boss killer of the pair, and notes that Concussion Device is what makes her positioning work.

A corrupted commando caught between controlling his powers and being consumed by them. As corruption takes over, his abilities are twisted into more powerful attacks for a short time, so the kit is about timing the transformation rather than avoiding it.

What you fight
- The gelatinous Gup returns, and it brought friends from the far reaches of the planet. The developer's own description is an orange abomination that bounces you off a cliff if you tread too close.
- The strongest creatures belong to The Void. Constructs of hulking power and corrupted mind were sent to capture the player, and the expansion's premise is that you can follow the thread back to what made them.
14 Void Items
Void Items are the expansion's signature system. Receiving one permanently alters every normal version of that item you own, and the alteration is not a straight upgrade: many items end up doing the opposite of what they used to. The developer's example is the Void ukulele, whose chain lightning targets a single enemy instead of a crowd. Some items change function entirely.

Why it plays differently
- Void Items convert your existing item pool instead of adding to it, which makes item acquisition a trade rather than a pure gain.
- Because the conversion is permanent, the order you pick Void Items up in changes what the rest of the run looks like.
- The two new survivors satisfy opposite roles: Railgunner is single-target elimination, Void Fiend is transforming burst.
Owning it in a lobby
Only one player in a lobby needs to own the expansion for its monsters, levels and items to appear for everyone. Players who do not own it cannot select the two survivors, and cannot permanently unlock the new items, logbooks or other content.
