What the trackers store
Progress trackers keep their state in your browser's local storage under a key that starts withpetrichor-codex:. That value stays on your device, is readable only from this site, and is never transmitted anywhere. Clearing your browser data removes it.
Server logs and hosting
The site is served as static files by a hosting provider, which processes standard request data such as IP address and user agent in order to deliver the pages and protect the service. That processing happens at the host, for the host's operational purposes, and is not combined into a profile of you by this site.
If you write to hi@riskofrain2.online, your address and message are used to answer you and to fix whatever the message was about. Nothing from that correspondence is published or passed on, and the address is not added to a mailing list.
Embedded and external content
Where a page embeds third-party media such as a video, that content loads from the provider's servers and the provider's own policies apply. Outbound links work the same way: once you follow one, the destination site's privacy notice governs.
Cookies specifically
This site sets no cookies of its own. The hosting provider can set strictly necessary or security-related cookies at the edge in order to serve the pages and absorb abusive traffic, and those are governed by the host rather than by this site. Because there are no advertising or analytics cookies, there is nothing here to opt out of, and no consent banner is required to read a page.
Your choices
You are in control of everything this site can hold. Clearing site data in your browser deletes the tracker keys described above, and because nothing is synced to a server, nothing is left behind. Blocking JavaScript stops the trackers from working while leaving the text of every page readable, since the pages are rendered as ordinary HTML first. If you have emailed us, asking us to delete that correspondence is enough.
How long things are kept
Tracker data is kept in your browser until you remove it, and this site has no other copy. Host-level request logs are retained for the short period the hosting provider keeps them for security and troubleshooting, under the provider's own schedule. Emails are kept for as long as needed to resolve the question they raise, and are deleted when they no longer serve that purpose.
Your rights over your data
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to ask what personal data is held about you, to have it corrected, to have it deleted, or to object to it being processed. In practice the only personal data this site ever holds is the content of an email you chose to send, and requests about it can be made to hi@riskofrain2.online. Where data is processed, the basis is the legitimate interest in running and protecting the site.
Children, and transfers
This site is written about a game rated for mature players, has no accounts and no user-generated content, and is not directed at children. Because the pages are served through a global content network, request data may be processed in a country other than your own; that handling is the host's, under its own terms.
If this changes
Introducing advertising or analytics would change what this notice has to say, so the notice and the terms of use are updated at the same time as such a change, and the revision date below moves with them. Questions go to hi@riskofrain2.online.
